Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) will define ASD by looking at the characteristics of diagnosis, discussing the differences in learning and briefly covering some best practices in working with the person on the spectrum.

Rick Goolsby

Rick Goolsby is a Registered Behavior Technician who has worked primarily with people with ASD for nearly 20 years. During that time, he has started two Day Habilitation Programs, set up and supervised Individualized Supported Living arrangements for several adults, and supervised a host of other programs. Throughout his time, he has always remained involved in training staff and educating parents and professionals. In addition to being an autism resource, he is also a certified trainer in crisis prevention and response.

The University of Missouri, Missouri Institute of Mental Health will be responsible for this program and will maintain a record of your continuing education credits earned. MIMH will award 1 clock hours or 1.2 contact hours (.1 CEU) for this program.

MIMH credit will fulfill Clinical Social Work and Psychologist licensure requirements in the State of Missouri.

Attendees with licensure from other states are responsible for seeking appropriate continuing education credit, from their respective boards for completing this program.

The Missouri Institute of Mental Health, as a part of the University of Missouri – St. Louis an accredited University, provides continuing education credit for mental health and social service professionals.
