Emerging Adults with First-Episode Psychosis: Clinical and Developmental Considerations
In this session, Dr. Moe will discuss the importance of considering developmental phase (i.e., emerging adulthood) in providing clinical services to individuals with first-episode psychosis. She will review existing interventions from the OSU Early Psychosis Intervention Center, discuss a novel intervention approach she has tested, and review additional opportunities for optimizing psychosocial services for young people living with psychosis.
Objectives:
1. Identify the phenomenology of first-episode psychosis among emerging adults
2. Identify and describe existing and novel approaches to providing clinical services to these individuals
3. Describe opportunities for optimizing psychosocial treatments to facilitate social and interpersonal functioning in emerging adults with psychosis
