Who We Are:
The Missouri Institute of Mental Health Office of Continuing Education has been providing high quality, low-cost programs to mental health and social service professionals for nearly three decades. These programs are produced either on our own or in conjunction with the Department of Mental Health or another agency. Today, we offer our training programs using a variety of technological tools making them both affordable and accessible. Blending formats allows us to deliver important material to a greater number of people than ever before. Our goal is to get information to the people who need it.
Live Conferences
MIMH produces meetings of any size or shape, from one speaker to dozens, for audiences across Missouri. Many of our programs are half-day offerings which are repeated in multiple locations. This strategy minimizes attendees’ time away from providing services, while still allowing a significant number of people to attend the robust experience of the live program.
Web Conferences
Prior to most of our Live Conferences, we ask presenters to deliver a web-based preview of their upcoming talk. These programs are generally less than an hour and are available via either streaming video or audio-only. Participants are encouraged to send in questions for the presenter electronically during the web conference.
Web Training
We also produce programs in a web-based format. Either in conjunction with a Live Conference or as a stand-alone program, we ask presenters to develop on-line courses that convey important educational content. Then, using the power of the web, we supplement their presentation with links to additional materials. We offer both post-testing and CEUs for our Web Training modules.
DVD Training
Because many of our customers do not have easy access to the Internet, we also produce all of our Web Training programs via DVD. We provide a booklet with much of the same material that is available on the website including post-tests and CEU applications. This is another cost-effective way to provide training to a wide audience.
