Program Description
Exposure to traumatic experiences is relatively common and most people recover naturally. However, every year approximately 8.5 million people in the United States will meet diagnostic criteria for PTSD. More alarming is that around 80% of these individuals will also meet criteria for another mental health condition, the most common being depressive disorders. In this training, we will address the impact of exposure to traumatic experiences, common responses to traumatic experiences, and specifically address the link between posttraumatic stress disorder and depressive disorders.

By attending this program participants will:

  • Recognize and describe common responses to traumatic experiences
  • Understand the diagnostic criteria for PTSD
  • Articulate the link between PTSD and other mental health conditions
