Description:
Preventative screening refers to testing for a common and potentially deadly medical condition before a person develops symptoms of that condition. If a condition is diagnosed early, there is often a higher chance that it can be treated effectively or cured. Screening is necessary for effective health care, and all clients should have the opportunity to undergo recommended screening tests. The purpose of this presentation is to provide case managers with information to facilitate preventative screening for chronic medical conditions in individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
