This Presentation will provide an overview of the DSM-5 and assist the clinician in navigating their way through to assess and diagnose. Changes and revisions will be explored along with application of the DSM-5 to clinical populations.

Nigel B Darvell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of Clinical Experience. He specializes in the treatment of Addictions and Dual Diagnosis and serves on the Faculty at Fontbonne University and Mckendree University teaching in the Social Work and Psychology Departments.
He is currently in private practice at Mid-America psychiatric Consultants and has been in private practice for over 30 years as well as worked in a variety of health care settings in the St. Louis community. He has been featured on several news and radio segments and is currently consultant to Freemantle Media Company advising on new projects with psychological interest. He has been featured on Nightline with Ted Koppel and a regular guest on local Radio and television. He is currently researching and completing a book manuscript on Anger Related Disorders scheduled for publication in 2022. He has written developed and spoke at numerous workshops and presentations and is a much sought after speaker and workshop presenter.
