In this presentation you will learn: The 10 things that culturally competent service provides do; how to address micro-aggressions, micro-insults and micro-invalidations in the helping relationship; intersectionality in cross cultural counseling; cultural competence in individual, group and family therapy; how to integrate culture into evidence based practices; and non-traditional approaches which integrate culture.
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Be able to apply the 10 principles which guide culturally competent practice into your work with clients
- Be aware of how to address micro-aggressions in the clinical relationship
