    Program Description:

    The core of this training is to introduce the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and its Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Resource Kit: Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT). IDDT is recommended for people who have co-occurring disorders, most specifically serious mental illness and substance disorders. The goal of this training is to increase the understanding of and encourage the use of evidence based practices in relation to assessment and treatment planning for this population. This introduction training is targeted toward any professional working with individuals with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance disorders. An eclectic approach to learning using discussion and case examples will be provided.

    Program Presenter:

    Craig Miner, MA, LPC, CASAC, received his master���s degree in counseling psychology from Ball State University in Indiana with honors. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and obtained certification in Missouri as a Certified Advanced Substance Abuse Counselor. Craig works full-time for Places for People as their Integrated Treatment Director. Under this title, he develops and implements integrated treatment programming.

    Additionally, Craig works as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Saint Louis University teaching a course in substance abuse interventions. He has 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field as a clinician, teacher and trainer and in program development specifically in substance abuse.

    Continuing Professional Education:

    The University of Missouri, Missouri Institute of Mental Health will be responsible for this program and maintain a record of your continuing education credits earned. The Missouri Institute of Mental Health will award 3.8 clock hours or 4.5 contact hours (.5 CEUs) for this activity.

    Substance Abuse Professionals: Missouri Substance Abuse Professional Credentialing Board (MSAPCB) has pre���approved this training for 3.75 contact hours.

    This program qualifies as hours toward MSAPCB credentialing in Co���Occurring Disorders (CCDP & CCDP���D).

    Counselors: MIMH is a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC tm) Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for programs that meet NBCC requirements. This program is eligible for 3.75 clock hours.

    The Missouri Institute of Mental Health is a registered Training Agency with the Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators (TA-079-310). This program qualifies participants for 3.75 Patient Care hours.
