Program Presenters:
Iris Bolton, In 1977, her son, Mitchell Bolton, completed suicide. This tragic loss would forever alter her path. Her desire to make meaning from his death would crystallize her future. Iris returned to school at Emory University and received her master���s degree in suicidology.
James T. Clemons, PH.D., Dr. Clemons is Professor Emeritus of Wesley Theological Seminary and retired clergyman of the United Methodist Church. In 1997, he founded the Organization for Attempters and Survivors of Suicide in Interfaith Services (OASSIS).
Clark Flatt, Mr. Flatt is the President/CEO of The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI), which was founded in October 1997 after the death of his youngest son, Jason. JFI���s mission is to provide information, tools and resources to students, educators/youth workers and parents that will enable early detection of at-risk behavior and guide them to local resources.
Laurie Davidson coordinates campus programs at the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC), funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The SPRC provides prevention support, training, and resources to assist organizations and individuals to develop suicide prevention programs, interventions and policies, and to advance the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
