Program Description:
Upon completion of this webinar participants will obtain:
· Knowledge of the basic structure of a crisis intervention model
· Skills in the key intervention components of a crisis intervention model
· Insights into tailoring a crisis intervention model for particular populations
This webinar will be based upon the presenter’s nine month experience of providing crisis intervention at Ground Zero following 911 and the subsequent publication of this model, which appears in several textbooks for crisis intervention responders.
Program Presenter:
Gary Behrman’s clinical expertise is in post trauma recovery interventions His research and publications focuses on building theory on how and why people flourish following a crisis and the functions of religion and spirituality in this process. His recent dissertation explored the effects of childhood sexual abuse in later life. He currently teaches at Lindenwood University and is the Department Chair and BSW Program Director.
