Ethics

Following a code of ethics is required of all individuals working in the health and mental health fields. This program is designed for professionals, paraprofessionals, volunteers, managers and any agency staff who work in the field of mental health and substance abuse.

Specifically, this program will provide an overview ethical behavior and codes of conduct in the professional world. Stress will be placed on why ethical conduct benefits the consumers/clients, the professional, the organization and society.

Ms. Gardner holds a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Philosophy & Religion and a Master of Arts degree in Social Studies; specializing in Community Psychology from Truman University. She has taught for Columbia College and has worked in law enforcement. Prior experiences include working for an adolescent residential treatment facility, the Missouri Department of Social Services, and the Missouri Division of Professional Registration.

We offer the following accreditation which is available during the Web Conference, via a link below the video window: The University of Missouri-Columbia Missouri Institute of Mental Health (MIMH) will be responsible for this program and maintain a record of your continuing education credits earned. The Missouri Institute of Mental Health will award 1 clock hour or 1.2 contact hours (.1 CEU) for this activity.MIMH credit will fulfill Clinical Social Work and Psychologist licensure requirements in the State of Missouri. Attendees with licensure from other states are responsible for seeking appropriate continuing education credit, from their respective boards for completing this program.
